Costa del Silencio
Costa del Silencio is the area west of Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos. It stretches from just before Las Galletas to Los Abrigos. This is the extreme south of Tenerife and was put on the map a few decades ago by the arrival of the TenBel holiday park. At that time, this park was a purely Belgian company (hence the name Tenerife -Belgium). A lot of tourist activity arose around Tenbel so that you can now find many cafés, bars, restaurants, pizzerias and holiday entertainment in El Trébol. The neighbouring fishing village of Las Galletas is an excellent base for exploring Tenerife. In no time at all, you can reach the large centres such as Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas by public transport, while still staying in a more or less quiet environment. The picturesque harbour offers a mooring for many pleasure boats and is known for its diving centres. Every morning there is a fish market where the catch of the night is sold. In many restaurants, the fresh fish of the day is on the menu. Las Galletas still has many local traders who do their utmost to please the tourists. Las Galletas is in stark contrast to the busy seaside resorts. Despite the fact that you can find everything there, there is no oversupply. The region is more popular with adults and wintering seniors due to its quieter character.
