The capital of El Rosario borough is the town of La Esperanza, land of leafy hills and rural traditions that its inhabitants have preserved.

The Adelantado woods with species of laurel trees and a recreational area, is located beside the town hall.

Another popular excursion site is the Las Raíces Mount with facilities for a fine afternoon in the country.

The peak is so humid that the shepherds use wool blankets even today.

A visit to the Rosario Church (16th Century) is recommended as well as the house of the pirate, Amaro Pargo (17th C) and the San Isidro Hermitage (17th C).
